TERRANG

‘TERRANG’ : ‘terra’ and ‘rang’

Terra means Land, Earth in Latin, Rang means colour in Hindi.

We encountered colourful textiles by travelling all over the world, especially rural area where people live traditional way.

Wayuu mochila bag is a vibrant, handmade bag, synonymous with the Wayuu tribe’s culture and tradition, knows for it intricate patterns and designs, and creates using a weaving technique passed down through generations. The Wayuu tribe, an indigenous group residing in the Guajira region shared between Colombia and Venezuela.

Each bag is unique, with the patterns ( called ‘ Kanas’ in the Wayuu language) portraying their way of life, values, and beliefs.

We do not limit our productions only Wayuu, we also have bags which are made of African Ankara wax printing fabrics, so called ‘Dutch wax printing’. African wax printing has unique and interesting history like Wayuu, often tell a story or send a message about their wearer.

African wax print fabric is known as Ankara; 100% cloth cotton that’s used to make clothing, accessories and other products. It was originally produced in Holland, but now produced in Africa.
