Purpose of our brand

Being Japanese kimono ambassador for modern life is one of our missions.

With modern life style, we stopped wearing Kimono like before. There are so many non-used Kimono in our wardrobes in Japan.

Recycling Kimono, also known as Kimono remaking or Kimono upcycling, serves several important purposes, both practical and cultural.

1. Preservation of cultural heritage

Kimonos are traditional garments often made with intricate techniques, hand-dyed fabrics, and symbolic patterns.

Recycling ensures that the artistry and cultural significance are preserved rather than lost of time or waste.

2. Sustainability and Waste Reduction

Kimonos are typically made from high-quality silk or cotton, and throwing them away would be environmentally wasteful.

Upcycling them into new items reduces textile waste and supports sustainable fashion.

3. Adaptation to modern life.

Recycling can give them a second life, creating unique fashion.

Traditional kimonos are not commonly worn in daily life today. By transforming them into modern garments or accessories, they can fit better into contemporary wardrobes and lifestyles.
